Add conditional attributes when creating a profile

Learn how to manage conditional attributes when creating a profile.

Conditional attributes previously configured for an entity type in the Data Modeler are available to display for entities of that type in the Hub Profile view. For more information about control and conditional attributes and how to configure them in the Data Modeler, see topics Conditional attributes and Configure conditional attributes.

When you create a profile for an entity type for which you have configured conditions, select the configured value in the control attribute to display the conditional attributes in the Profile view.

Note: Conditional attributes are applicable if you use the Collaborative Profile Creation process. For more information, see topic Modern cloud-native foundation.
To add conditional attributes for a control attribute when creating a profile:
  1. In the Hub left navigation pane, select Create new profile.
  2. In the Profile view, enter values in the available attributes.
  3. From the control attribute, select the value configured for conditions in the Data Modeler. The related conditional attributes are displayed below.

For example, in the image above, from the Type of Service dropdown, select Direct. The conditional attributes configured for this value - Vendor legal name, Vendor DBA name, and Address - are displayed below this dropdown.

Note: When adding a profile, if you do not see the conditional attributes automatically displayed in the facet, select the More Attribute link and select the conditional attribute from the list displayed.
  4. Enter the values in the Conditional attributes.
  5. Select Save to save the profile.
