Add a profile using Collaborative profile creation wizard

Learn how to create a new profile using the profile creation wizard.

Attention: This feature is available to limited users through the Reltio Early Access (EA) program. Interested in finding out more about this feature or participating in our EA program? Get details in topic Reltio Release Process and Schedule.
Enable the Collaborative Profile Creation (EA) feature for the entity type in the UI Modeler. For more information, see topic Configure Collaborative Profile Creation for an entity type . You must also be assigned the required permissions.
When you enable and configure the Collaborative Profile Creation for an entity type, the profile creation wizard appears when you try to create a new profile for the entity type.
To create a new profile using the Collaborative profile creation wizard:
  1. In the Hub, select Create new profile from the left navigation menu.
  2. From the list of entity types displayed, select the entity type for which you want to create a profile, for example, the Organization entity type. The profile creation wizard opens.
  3. In the Basic Details tab, select Search from the right pane to open the Search results tab.
  4. Start entering details in the attributes in the facet. As soon as you start entering details in any of the attributes, a list of existing profiles is displayed in the Search results tab based on the details entered. For example, if you select Distributor as the Organization type from the drop down, a list of Distributors is displayed.
Note: This feature helps you to find out if the profile already exists in the system. It also lists similar profiles for you to take a look at. You can click on any of these profiles to open the profile in a new tab.
  5. Enter details in the displayed attribute fields. For nested attributes, select Create Attribute. to display all attributes belonging to the nested attribute. For example, you can view and enter details for all attributes for an Address attribute.
  6. Select Continue to go to the next tab. In our example Organization entity type, the next tab is Legal. Alternatively, you can also select the name of the tab to navigate to the tab.
  7. Enter details in the facets, and select Continue to go to the next tab.
  8. After entering all details, select one of the following:
    • Cancel: Discard the changes or updates you made and return to the main Hub.

    • Save: Save the profile details and display them in the Profile view. You can view, edit, and delete the profile based on your settings in the Profile view tab for the entity type in UI Modeler.

    • Suggest: Save the profile in pending mode as a Data Change Request (DCR). A message indicating that the changes are saved as pending and sent for review displays. Note that these profiles are not available outside the profile creation process.

The created DCR enables other users to review the profile before saving it. The user who is assigned the DCR receives an email with a link to open the pending entity. They can also navigate to this profile by clicking the link in the Notification Inbox in their dashboard. The user can then update the profile and either save it or select Suggest to assign the task to another user (if they have reviewer access).

After the record is ready for consumption by downstream systems and business process, the last user to edit the profile can save it. The profile is then saved in the database and can be viewed in the Profile view.
