Quick Start Guide
Learn how to get started with the Reltio Data Cloud.
This guide is primarily for you, a new customer receiving Reltio assets for the first time. You'll receive an Asset Sheet directly via email — typically sent to the person listed as the Technical Contact on the Order Form. As the designated Technical Contact, we've set you up as the Customer Admin for your Reltio account. The rest of this guide is tailored to assist you in your role as the Customer Admin.
Welcome to Reltio, and thank you for choosing the Reltio Data Cloud. As the Customer Administrator ("Customer Admin") for your Reltio account, you now have immediate access to all tenants and assets listed in your Asset Sheet. This guide will help you log into your tenants swiftly and provides key information to get you started on day one!
What comes with your Subscription
In your Reltio license, you have a Base Package that includes three tenants:
- DEV tenant
- TEST tenant
- PROD tenant
Your company may have additional items provisioned per your license, but the three tenants above serve as the core assets.
If you’re eager to log into your tenants, do the following:
- On your Asset Sheet, find the MDM Tenant UI URL within the section where the Tenant Business Purpose is “DEV”
- Enter the URL into your browser.
- You'll see a Reltio tenant login page.
- Use the “Name/email of Customer Admin” provided on the Asset Sheet as the Username.
- If this isn't you, please contact customersuccess@reltio.com
- Select “Forgot Password” to establish a password for your User Account.
- After the first time you login, you will be asked to confirm your email address by the familiar process of receiving an email with an OTP (one-time password).
- Having confirmed your email address in the previous step, each future session will use the username and password you've established, and you will also receive an OTP in your email to complete the login for that session.
- As you can see, Reltio, by default, uses a multifactor authentication (MFA) by Email methodology for human authentication. But you can change this to leverage an MFA Authenticator app in the User Management application which is within the Reltio Console, more details below.
- Once you're logged into your DEV tenant, you will be presented with what is often known as the “Reltio UI”. There will not be any profiles (aka “records”) present in the tenant but you will see a navigation bar on the left and controls across the top.
- At this point you can similarly log into your Test and Prod tenants if you wish.
- From the Reltio UI, use the “Applications” icon (looks like a tic-tac-toe board) in the bottom left corner of the UI to access the Reltio Console. It's the control center for your tenants and provides a wide range of management and configuration functions for the Customer Administrators and Tenant Administrators.
Within the Reltio Console, you will see an app called User Management. Use this to add additional human users (perhaps additional Customer Admins), create service accounts, and change the type of MFA used.

- MDM Tenant Information
-
MDM Tenant ID - This is the unique identifier for an MDM tenant. Notice that the DEV, TEST, and PROD tenants each have their own unique identifier. When corresponding with Reltio regarding any tenant, perhaps via a Support ticket or email, use its unique identifier for reference.
MDM Tenant UI URL - This is the UI URL that Business Users and Data Stewards will use in their browser to access the tenant.
MDM Tenant API URL - When accessing your tenant programmatically from a calling application, use this URL.
MDM tenant auth URL - When a calling application wishes to make an API call to the tenant, it must obtain a token using this auth URL. Refer to the Authentication API documentation for more information.
- MDM Tenant Queue Info
-
Each of your tenants was provisioned with an accompanying queue which is linked to receive events from the MDM tenant for use cases that rely on streaming events. This item in the Asset Sheet provides the details of the queue that you can provide to the calling application or integration technology that needs access to the queue.
Note: All queues are disabled at the time you receive this information in anticipation of an Initial Data Load (IDL) into the tenant. To enable a queue, generally applicable after the IDL is completed, you can navigate to the Reltio Console / Tenant Management / External Queues, where you can simply enable streaming for the queue. The queue information mentioned above is also available within this section of the Console. For more information, see topic Edit an external queue configuration. - Reference Data Management Tenant Information
-
Each of the MDM tenants provisioned for you has been linked to a supporting Reference Data Management tenant which has been prepopulated with industry specific reference data according to the Velocity Pack used to provision your tenants. Additional Reference Data Management information can be found at: Reference Data Management (RDM)
RDM Tenant UI URL - This is the URL that Admins and Data Stewards will use to access the RDM tenant from their browser.
RDM Tenant API URL - When accessing your RDM tenant programmatically from a calling application, use the API version of the RDM tenant’s URL.
RDM tenant Auth URL - When a calling application wishes to make an API call to the RDM tenant, it must obtain a token using this RDM tenant auth URL. Refer to the Authentication API documentation for more information.
Adding Additional Users
As the Customer Admin, it is typically your responsibility to add additional users to the system. Using the User Management function within the Reltio Console application, you will generally add three different kinds of users as needed: Customer Admin, Tenant Admin, and Business Users.
-
ROLE_ADMIN_CUSTOMER
-
ROLE_ADMIN_TENANT
-
ROLE_RDM_EDIT
-
ROLE_ACTIVITIES
-

ROLE_INTEGRATION_CUSTOMER_ADMIN
Tenant Admin: A Tenant Admin is a user to whom you've given the role of ROLE_ADMIN_TENANT. As such, the Tenant Admin has access to the configuration API, and can make configuration changes. When assigning this role, you must also specify the specific tenants this user should have access to. In this way, a Tenant Admin only gets permissions to specific tenants you specify whereas the Customer Admin has broad access across all tenants and assets.
Business User: For these users, there is no actual role name as you see above for the other two roles. Instead for these users, you will provide in each person’s user profile, the roles you wish the user to have, for a specific set of tenants. Oftentimes for business users, you will only link the user to the PROD tenant. Note: To give a user basic read/write access to data in the tenant you need only assign two roles to him/her. ROLE_USER and ROLE_API.
For more information, see topic Access Management.
Licensed Limits for Consolidated Profiles
Your license entitles you to a capacity of 200,000 Consolidated Profiles in your DEV tenant. The TEST tenant that is named as part of your Base Package is entitled to the same volume as your PROD tenant. If you licensed additional TEST tenants they may carry entitlements the same as or less than that of your PROD tenant. See your license contract for details about the volume of Consolidated Profiles licensed for your PROD and TEST tenants.

Submitting support tickets
Technical support is handled by the Reltio Customer Engineering team, and is generally used for suspected bugs or technical tasks that need to be accomplished on your behalf. For more details, see topic Get help in Support Portal.
Designated Contacts
The Reltio Support portal accepts ticket submission only from Designated Contacts within your organization. The Reltio support plan you licensed entitles you to a maximum number of named, Designated Contacts shown below. Review your license agreement to determine the number of Designated Contacts to which you're entitled.
Support Plan | Number of Named, Designated Contacts per production tenant |
---|---|
Standard |
4 |
Premier |
8 |
Concierge |
12 |
That said, in order to successfully submit a support ticket, the Designated Contact must also be set up as a tenant user, which you should plan to do via the User Management function within the Reltio Console.
As stated earlier, you've been set up as the initial Customer Admin for your account and thus, you've also been set up as the first Designated Contact in Reltio’s support site.
As such, you have the ability to submit tickets immediately. Typically the Customer Admin determines other users who should additionally be named as Designated Contacts and articulates this to the Reltio Customer Engineering via a support ticket. Don’t feel obligated to identify the full set of 4, 8, or 12 Designated Contacts per your entitlement on day one.
It's generally a good idea to have one or two other Designated Contacts from the development and configuration team who can file tickets. Lastly, if you're working with an SI partner that is doing Reltio configuration or integration work for you, you may want to have persons from the partner organization named as Designated Contacts.
