With Reltio Data Masking, you can protect sensitive data by applying masking rules across APIs and the UI. This feature helps you comply with regulatory requirements while controlling access through Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
Overview of Data Masking
Use Data Masking in Reltio Data Cloud to safeguard personal and sensitive data. You can apply configurable masking rules to attributes containing PII, such as Social Security numbers and phone numbers.

How It Works
Data Masking is applied at the API level, ensuring that masked attributes stay secure across the UI, APIs, and data exports. You can define which users have permission to unmask data based on RBAC settings. For more details, see Managing Role Definitions.
Setup
You can configure Data Masking in the Reltio Console using the Data Modeler. Define which attributes to mask, set up RBAC permissions, and control where unmasked data is available. For more details, see Mask a simple attribute.

Considerations
