D&B Reason Codes
D&B provides a list of reason codes associated with the updated DUNS number.
The following table shows a list of reasons with their codes that D&B provides for a change in DUNS number:
Note: The reason codes are available only in Direct 2.0 and not in Direct+.

| B | 420 | Duplicate record transferred | Full record was identified as a duplicate of another full record. |
| C | 421 | Internal structure change | Branch record became a separate entity. |
| D | 421 | Internal structure change | Headquarters moved to a branch location. |
| E | 420 | Duplicate record transferred | Branch record was identified as a duplicate of another branch record. |
| F | 421 | Internal structure change | Full record became a branch record. |
| G | 333 | Straight deletion | Global record was deleted with no new reference DUNS. |
| M | 421 | Internal structure change | Merger/Acquisition |
| R | 4049 | Reinstated | Global DUNS record was reinstated. |
| T | 421 | Internal structure change | Global DUNS record was transferred to a new DUNS. |
