Create entity type attributes

Learn about creating and editing simple, nested, and reference entity type attributes.

Now that you know about entity types and attributes, let's learn how to create and edit entity type attributes. The Data Modeler lists entity types and attributes that are available for that tenant.

When you select an Entity type, you can view more of its information in these horizontal tabs:
  • ATTRIBUTES
  • CLEANSE
  • MATCH
  • SURVIVORSHIP
  • RELATIONSHIP TYPES
  • VALIDATION FUNCTIONS
  • ROLES
Select an Entity type to view the ATTRIBUTES tab. Select EDIT and CREATE NEW to create these attribute types:

Create and edit entity type attributes

Select an Entity type to view its Attributes. Select EDIT to create and edit Simple, Nested, and Reference attributes for the selected Entity type.

Once you select EDIT, you can make multiple changes.

  1. Select + to view the menu:
    • Add attributes before: to create a new attribute before the selected attribute.
    • Add attributes after: to create a new attribute after the selected attribute.
    • Add child attribute: creates a child attribute of a Nested attribute only.
  2. An edited attribute row is yellow before you select SAVE ALL and a new attribute row is green, until you select SAVE ALL.
  3. When you select EDIT, three options display:
    • CREATE NEW: select to create new Simple, Nested, and Reference attributes. Create many attributes in one session when you select ADD ANOTHER
    • SAVE ALL: It's important that you select SAVE ALL when you are ready to save your changes from your session.
    • CANCEL: Select CANCEL if you want to discard the changes you made in this session.
