History tab

Learn about the History tab which displays a chronological list of profile versions or slices.

The History tab displays the timeline of a profile as a stream of versions (profile slices) and associated event. For example, when you create a profile or the system merges profiles, a new version is added to the timeline.

The timeline may mention other profiles that were merged or unmerged to create the current profile. Selecting an entry in the timeline updates the Profile view with the changes associated with that profile slice on all of the profile's tabs. The highlighted timeline slice displays the type of event (for example, a manual or automatic merge) and details such as the match rules associated with the changes.

The Reltio platform color-codes all visible changes made to the profile in that slice:
  • Green - newly added values
  • Yellow - updates
  • Red - deletes

Here's an example of newly added values and updated values:

And here's an example of where details are deleted for an entity:

To compare one slice to another, select the compare view from the dropdown list on the selected slice.

You may compare the slice with the current view or with the previous slice. The Reltio platform displays the changes in the Profile view as colored highlights and displays deleted data with strike-through text.

Note: By default, the Compare to Current view option is selected.

The timeline stream displays each profile as a separate line until a profile merge event. Unmerge events will again display the profile streams as separate lines after the unmerge event.

Each dot in the stream represents an update to the profile from a given source. Hover over the dot to display the source names. The value Reltio displays for any updates that you enter manually using the platform, while other sources display the names of the data sources (such as a Data Tenant). Merged timelines display all source names.
