Potential Matches facet

Learn how to identiry potential matches and merge duplicate profiles.

Are you a data steward trying to avoid duplicate profiles? Use the Potential Matches feature to see a summarized view of potential matches and merge those that are the same.

The Potential Matches facet in the Profile view displays a summary of the potential matches for the selected profile. It displays a list of profiles that can be a match to the main entity, including details such as the profile name, entity ID, and the match rules that determined if the profile was a match.

A relevance-based match rule generates a score between two profiles. Based on the relevance score, you can decide if the two profiles are a match or not. For example, a score of 80% or more would help you to easily determine if the profile is a match. For more information on relevance score, see topic Relevance-Based Matching - Detailed Explanation. For more information on the details in the Potential Matches view, see topic Potential Matches perspective .

The relevance score is displayed along with a label that denotes if the match is strong or weak.

Click the arrow next to the Rules icon to display the match rules used to determine the potential match and view the relevance score for each of the attributes in the match rule.

Merge the profile or mark it as not a match by selecting the relevant option for the profile in the facet.
