Email and phone verification
Learn how Reltio verifies email addresses and phone numbers in real time or in batch mode using APIs.
Email and phone verification provides a dedicated service for validating contact details inside or outside of Reltio. The service performs a real-time verification of phone and email to confirm whether an email is deliverable or a phone number is valid and active. Depending on your workflow, verification results can be written back to Reltio entities or returned directly in the API response.
Verification modes
The service offers multiple verification modes, giving you flexibility to use it in both operational and large-scale scenarios:
- Entity verification: Runs against attributes on a specific entity and updates verification details such as
VerificationStatusorIsValid. This mode can reuse previous results if they are still fresh, based on the configurablemaxVerificationAge. - Batch verification : Checks email or phone values without modifying tenant data. Every request is verified and the results are returned in the response. This mode is suited for external systems where persistence in Reltio is not required.
- Email verification task: Processes large sets of values asynchronously. Batch jobs verification is typically used for periodic data re-verification or bulk processing after a data load. This is supported only for Email verification as of now. This mode can also reuse previous results if they are still fresh, based on the configurable
maxVerificationAge.
Key benefits
This integration supports more reliable contact data management and reduces operational costs by:
- Providing real-time validation for operational workflows and external integrations.
- Offering batch jobs for large datasets that require regular re-validation.
- Respecting rate limits and retry policies to ensure performance and stability.
- Generating audit logs for every transaction to support observability and compliance.
When to use it
You can use email and phone verification across a range of data management workflows:
- Onboard new contacts with verified details before they enter critical processes.
- Cleanse legacy data in bulk to ensure that existing records remain valid.
- Check details in external systems where you need a quick answer but no persistence in Reltio.
