Map attributes for pretrained FERN models

Learn how to map attributes in your pretrained FERN models.

The pretrained FERN models help you evaluate matches between pairs of entities, and are preconfigured for the data models in our velocity packs. If you're not using a velocity pack, you'll need to map the attributes in your data model to the ones in the velocity pack. For more information, see topic Available pretrained FERN models.

By default, entity attributes that share the same name in both models are automatically mapped. If the name of the attribute differs in both models, they do not get mapped automatically. In which case, you have to map them manually. To save and enable the pretrained FERN model, all required attributes must be mapped. Required attributes mostly refer to the basic profile details such as the name, address, phone details, and so on. The Other attributes are optional, without which profiles can still be match profiles, but including them makes the matching process more effective.

The attribute mapping feature enables you to link your data attributes to the corresponding attributes in the velocity pack's data model. This ensures your existing data is compatible with the attributes used by the FERN pre-trained model.

To map your attributes:
  1. In the Console, select Data Modeler.
  2. In the Data Modeler, select the entity type from the left navigation pane. You will see entity type details with various tabs.
  3. Select Match from the top horizontal menu.
You will see the match rules and AI-Powered models defined for the entity type.
  4. In the AI-Powered Models section, hover over the model for which you want to map attributes, and select Edit.
You will see the Edit match model page.
  5. In the Map required attributes section, map your attributes. The Required attributes column displays the attributes in your data model.

For the Individual entity type, the following screen opens:

For the Organization entity type, the following screen opens:
  6. In the Your entity type attributes column, select the corresponding attribute in your data model.
  7. In the Other attributes section, map the other optional parameters. These are not mapped automatically, and the drop-down under the Your entity type attributes column are empty.
  8. Click the drop-down of an attribute to be mapped to display a list of attributes available in your data.
Note: Other attributes are available only for the Individual entity type.

  9. Select the corresponding attribute from this list. Use the Search field to search for an attribute from this list.
  10. After you've mapped all attributes, select Save to save the mappings.
