Materialized hierarchy is a feature that organizes related profiles into parent-child structures. It helps represent business relationships in a clear hierarchy, such as organizational, account, or product structures.

Materialized hierarchy is node based. Profiles are connected within the hierarchy structure itself, so a separate relationship object is not required between connected entities.

Materialized hierarchy also supports changes over time. It can include hierarchy versions and effective dates, which makes it possible to work with current, future, or historical hierarchy structures without replacing existing hierarchy data.

In Hub, Materialized hierarchy is available through the Hierarchy perspective in the Profile view. This perspective shows the hierarchy instances associated with a selected profile and provides the context for reviewing and managing hierarchy data.

Materialized hierarchy depends on both tenant and UI configuration. Tenant business configuration defines the hierarchy types available in the tenant and the entity types that can use them. UI configuration controls whether the Hierarchy perspective appears in the Profile view for a given entity type and which roles can access it.
