Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure your source schema file meets the following requirements:

• The file must be in one of the supported formats:
  • XML
  • XSD
  • JSON
• The file size is 30 MB or smaller.
• The file is sanitized and does not include confidential, regulated, or production-sensitive data unless your organization’s data handling policies allow it.

Upload and map a source schema

Upload a source schema to generate suggested mappings between your existing model and the Reltio data model. To upload a schema, perform the following steps:

1. Open the Reltio Ontology Builder.
2. In the welcome window, select Upload Schema.
3. In the Upload your schema window, add the source schema file using one of the following options:
   • Drag and drop the file into the upload area.
   • Select Select File.
4. In the file picker, select the source schema file you want to map.
5. Select Open.

   Wait while Reltio Ontology Builder maps the uploaded schema to Reltio.

6. Review the mapped model in Diagram view to see how source schema elements connect to the following Reltio model components:
   • Entities
   • Relationships
   • Interactions
   • Reference data
7. Select List to review the mapping results in a tabular view.
8. In List view, review the following mapping sections:
   • ENTITY TYPE
   • RELATIONSHIP TYPE
   • INTERACTION TYPE
   • REFERENCE DATA
   • SOURCES
9. Review the following columns to understand how source schema elements align with Reltio model elements:
   • SOURCE SCHEMA
   • RELTIO
   • MATCH
   • ATTRIBUTES
10. Select a mapped Reltio model element to open the detail panel.
11. In the detail panel, review the following information for the selected model element:
    • Mapped attributes
    • Derived attributes
    • Match confidence values
12. Select Download Schema to download the generated schema output.

Result

Reltio Ontology Builder displays suggested mappings between the uploaded source schema and the Reltio data model. You can review the mapped model in diagram or list view and download the generated schema output for further review.

After you download the generated schema output, review it with your data architecture, governance, or implementation team. Validate the generated model before using it as part of tenant configuration or implementation planning.
