Enable MFA

Learn how to enable MFA.

Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to secure non-SSO user accounts in Reltio. MFA adds an extra verification step beyond the password, reducing unauthorized access risks. This guide explains how to enable email-based and app-based MFA options for your organization.

  • Global applicability: MFA is not a per-tenant feature, it applies to all users of your organization regardless of the tenants they access.
  • Administrative responsibility: Administrators are responsible for enabling MFA.
To enable MFA:
  1. Access the Reltio Console using your administrator credentials.
  2. Go to User Management.
  3. Select Multi-Factor Authentication.
    Reltio enforces MFA to all all non-SSO users under the customer, regardless of the tenants they want to access, by default. So when you open this page, you can see that MFA is enabled.
    Note: You cannot disable MFA.
  4. Select the MFA options.
    • Email: When it is enabled for the first time, enrolled users automatically receive a verification code via email each time they log in. For more details, see topic Enroll for email-based MFA.
      Note: You cannot disable the Email MFA option if MFA has been enforced on your organization. If MFA has not been enforced, and when you manually enable the Email MFA option; you can see the following confirmation message bottom-right on the page – Email based MFA is enabled.
    • Authenticator: After enabling this option, users can enroll in an authentication app. This option provides a higher level of security compared to email-based MFA. For more details, see topic Enroll for app-based MFA.
    Note: You can disable the Authenticator MFA option in all cases. When you manually enable the Authenticator MFA option, you can see the following confirmation message bottom-right on the page – Authenticator based MFA is enabled.
