Step 3: Defining Changes for Bulk Update
After selecting the operation, you must define the changes that must be updated for the selected profiles.
Simple attributes
To define changes for simple attribute:
In the Define Changes page, the number of profiles selected in the previous page is displayed.
- Click Back to return to the previous page to make changes to your selection.
- From the Select Attribute drop-down list, select the
attribute.
For example, Country Code.
- From Select Operation drop-down list, select Add new.
- From the drop-down list, select the country code. You can view more country
codes by clicking the LOAD MORE button.
For example, Belgium (BE).
This action adds a new value for the selected attribute, in the selected profiles.
- From Select Operation drop-down list, select Clear
attribute.
This action clears the attribute value from the selected profiles.
- From Select Operation drop-down list, select Replace
all with.
An input box is displayed.
From the drop-down list, select the value.
This action replaces the attribute value in the selected profiles with the value selected.
- From Select Operation drop-down list, select Find and replace.
Two input boxes are displayed.
In the first input box, select the existing attribute value that must be replaced.
In the second input box, select the attribute value that must be added.
This action searches for the value specified in the first input box and replaces the value with the value specified in the second input box.
- From Select Operation drop-down list, select Find and remove.
An input box is displayed.
Select the attribute value that must be removed.
This action searches for the value specified in the input box and removes the value from the selected profiles.
- Click Continue. The Review Changes page is displayed. For more information, see Step 4: Reviewing Changes for Bulk Update.
Nested attributes
To define changes for nested attributes:
In the Define Changes page, the number profiles selected in the previous page is displayed.
- From the Select attribute drop down list, select
the nested attribute.
For example, Phone.
- From Select Operation drop-down list, select Add
new.
The sub-attributes of the selected nested attribute are displayed below.
Enter the values for the required sub-attributes.
This action adds the new attribute values in the profiles selected.
- From Select Operation drop-down list, select Clear
attribute.
This action clears all the attribute values in the selected profiles.
- From the Select Operation drop-down list, select
Replace all with.
The sub-attributes of the selected nested attribute are displayed below.
Enter the values for the required sub-attribute.
This action replaces the new attribute values in the profiles selected.
- Click Continue. The Review Changes page is displayed. For more information, see Step 4: Reviewing Changes for Bulk Update.
Reference attributes
To define changes for reference attributes:
In the Define Changes page, the number profiles selected in the previous page is displayed.
- From the Select attribute drop-down list, select the reference attribute you want to update in the profiles.
For example, Address
- From the Select Operation drop-down list, select Repoint Reference.
- From the Select Address Profile drop-down list, select the address that will replace the current address.
- Click Continue. The Review Changes page is displayed. For more information, see Step 4: Reviewing Changes for Bulk Update.
Edit tags
To define changes for tags:
- In the Define Changes page, the number of profiles selected in the previous page is displayed.
- In the Select attribute field, search for Tags, OR, scroll to the end of the Select attribute window and select Tags from the Entity group.
- From the Select operation drop-down list, select Add new. An input box is displayed. You can add one or more tags, separated by commas.
- From the Select operation drop-down list, select
Clear attribute.
This action removes all the tags from the selected profiles.
- From the Select operation drop-down list, select
Replace all with.
An input box is displayed. You can add one or more tags, separated by commas.
- From the Select operation drop-down list, select
Find and replace.
Two input boxes are displayed. In the first box, enter the existing tags that must be replaced. In the second input box, enter the tags that must be added. In both the boxes, you can add one or more tags, separated by commas.
- From the Select operation drop-down list, select
Find and remove.
An input box is displayed. You can add one or more tags that must be removed, separated by commas.
