Accelerate the Value of Data

Add Crosswalks

Crosswalks provide a way to uniquely analyze the source-provided attributes in Reltio.

A crosswalk helps you to identify the records in the input file. If you do not provide a crosswalk, Reltio provides a default crosswalk. For more information, see Crosswalks.
Note: When you load more than 10k records, you must provide a crosswalk.
  1. On the main Map page, select the required column. It will open the Attributes Panel on your right.
For more information, see Map File Columns to Attributes.

    OR

    Click Map Attributes.

  2. On the Map dialog box, click Crosswalks.

  3. Click ADD.
The new Crosswalk is displayed. For example Crosswalk1.

  4. Expand the Crosswalk.

The Type and Value fields are displayed.

  5. Map the Type field.
    For example, HMS.

Also, you can set a default value to the Type field. This will help you if the value for the Type field is missing in the column.

When you hover over the Type field, a Gear icon appears.

  6. Click the Gear icon.
Using the icon, you can set a default value for the Type field. For example, HMS, Linkedin, Facebook. The Advanced Settings is displayed beside the Type option.

  7. Map the Value field.
The value helps you to validate a crosswalk.
Note: You can map fields related to the crosswalk. For a valid crosswalk, you must map Type and Value fields.

Note: While mapping the Type field, you must make sure that the values in the column are valid sources. If a mapped source is invalid, the particular record will fail to load.
  8. Click Advanced Settings.
The options available are as follows:
    • Source table
    • External info
    • Create date
    • Update date
    • Delete date
    • See the Table 1: Advanced Settings: Options which explains the available options displayed for Advanced Settings.

Update date This is an optional property which indicates the date when the crosswalk was updated the last time in the original source (not in Reltio).

Note: The Advanced Setting option is available for Create date and Update date settings only.

Select Data Provider when you are loading data from the main data source. Alternatively, select Contributor Provider when you load additional data from a different source.

While adding a crosswalk, Data providers supply attribute values. All the attributes provided in the request body will be associated with the crosswalk. If an entity with a matching crosswalk value already exists, then the existing attributes associated with the crosswalk will be overwritten, fully or partially, by the new attribute values.

When you select Contributor Provider, no attributes will be associated with the crosswalk. If an entity with such a matching crosswalk value already exists, the existing attributes associated with the crosswalk will not be affected.

Note: If there is no existing crosswalk, a new empty crosswalk (without attributes) will be created.
  16. Click the Delete icon to delete a crosswalk.

  17. Click the Downward arrow as follows:
