Detailed View of the Related entity

You can view details of any particular relationship by simply clicking on that particular row.

When you click on a relationship in the Relationship perspective, a more detailed view of the relationship is displayed.The following details are dispalyed in the detailed view:

  • The name of the main entity, related entity, and the selected relationship are displayed, along with the direction of the relationship.
    Note: The direction of the arrow(s) depicting the relationship between the entities, along with the associated label is displayed based on the configuration in the Console. For more information, see topic Creating a Relationship Type.
  • Start Date of the relationship
  • End Date of the relationship
  • Comments - Add a comment about this particular relationship to facilitate better collaboration between data stewards.

Sources

The Sources section of the page displays the attributes associated with the relationship. The following information is displayed for each attribute:

  • Attributes and Operational value - This column displays the attribute’s labels and operational values. The Operational Value is a dynamic value calculated in real-time, which is based on Survivorship Rules.
  • Rule Type - This column displays the type of Survivorship rule that is used to determine the Operational Value of the attribute. For example, aggregate.
  • Attribute values - This column displays the source values for the attribute. These values are color coded to indicate the source systems to which these belong. You can also a new attribute to the entity, if required. Hover over the attribute value and select any one of the following actions:
    • Ignore - You can ignore the source value.
    • Pin - You can override the operational value with the original source value.
    • Edit - You can edit the attribute value.
    • Delete - You can delete the attribute value.

Crosswalks

The Legend lists the crosswalks associated with the entity.

You can add or delete existing crosswalks. You can also drag a crosswalk and drop it into the attribute values column to add new values for that attribute. These crosswalks also help you determine the time when the relationship was created.
