Delete tenant data

Learn about the Delete tenant data job.

As a tenant administrator, have you ever secretly wished to have greater control over how quickly your organization’s tenant data is deleted? Sure, your data delete request is taken care of without any delay and it's all going fine, but sometimes you’re just left wanting more.

If you’ve ever wanted to delete your data, so you can load brand new data or reload the data to test your configurations any time you want, you’ve come to the right place!

Exercise your right to get rid of old data in a development or test tenant and replace it with new data using the Delete tenant data job in the Console Tenant Management application. You can delete from your tenant just its data or both its data and activity log.

The Delete tenant data job runs only on development or testing tenants. If you want to delete data from a Production tenants, contact Reltio Customer Engineering for assistance (for further information, see topic Get help in Support Portal.

Ensure no other jobs are running before you start a Delete tenant data job. Once you start this job, all other tenant management jobs are locked, so you cannot run them until this job is complete. You can run only one Delete tenant datajob at a time. If you try to run another Delete tenant datajob before the current job is completed, you receive a notification to either wait for the job to complete or stop that job to run a new Delete tenant data job.


Permissions to delete tenant data

You don't want just anyone to be able to delete data from your organization's tenants. The Reltio Security model keeps you in control of who can access and manage your tenant data by defining roles and specifying their permissions:
System roles
Reltio provides these default roles for managing your organization's tenants:
  • ROLE_ADMIN_TENANT: This Tenant Administrator role is associated with a tenant. It provides permissions to access and manage tenant services and data.This role is automatically assigned to each tenant in your organization's Reltio Data Cloud.   • ROLE_ADMIN_CUSTOMER: This Customer Administrator role is associated with a user. It provides permissions to manage tenants and their users. This role is automatically assigned to users identified as your organization's tenant administrators. For more information, see topic Customer Administrator Role Across all Services.

Custom roles
As a Customer Administrator with the ROLE_ADMIN_CUSTOMER role assigned, you can create custom roles to meet your organization's needs instead of depending on various Reltio system roles. associate permissions, and assign them to users

To enable other users to delete data from a tenant, in the Console User Management application, create a new role or update and existing one. Select the appropriate access privileges for this service and the tenant. Then assign this role to a user with access to the tenant.
