Schedule an automated long-running task

Learn how to create and schedule a long-running task in AgentFlow so that you can automate repeatable agent work in the background.

Prerequisites:
Schedule an automated long-running task in Task management to allow an agent to process high-volume work in the background. Define the task details, enter the user prompt, choose a schedule, and monitor the jobs created for each scheduled run. Automated long-running tasks support up to 100 records in a single run.
To schedule an automated long-running task
  1. In Reltio AgentFlow, select Task management from the left navigation pane. The Task Management page is displayed with a list of scheduled tasks.
  2. Select +Schedule Task to schedule a new automated long-running task.
    1. In the Task Name field, enter a descriptive name for the task.
    2. From the list of agents displayed, select the agent that you want to use for the task.
  3. Select Continue.
    1. In the User prompt field, enter the instructions that the agent uses for the scheduled run. Use the prompt to identify which records to process and any rules, conditions, or actions the agent must apply.
  4. Select Continue.
    1. Choose whether to run the task once or on a recurring schedule.
      • Select Run Once to schedule the task for a specific date and time.

For a one-time task, specify the date and time. Review the next scheduled run before you continue.

      • Select Recurring to run the task on a recurring schedule.

Set the task to run on a recurring schedule by specifying frequency, day, and time. You can schedule the task to run daily, weekly, or monthly.

  5. Select Continue.
    1. Review the task details and schedule settings.
    2. Select Confirm and Schedule to save the task. The task appears on the Task management page.
Result

AgentFlow creates the task and schedules it based on the settings you selected. Each run executes as a separate job. During execution, the agent processes items based on the task instructions. The agent processes some items automatically and sends others for human approval.

When a scheduled job finishes, AgentFlow sends an email notification to the user. The email includes the agent used, the original request, environment and tenant details, start and completion timestamps, the session ID, and a View Result link that opens the detailed results in AgentFlow Task Management.
