Automated long-running tasks
Learn about automated long-running tasks. This feature lets supported agents process high-volume work in the background using policy-based automation and routes low-confidence items for review.
Reltio AgentFlow™ Task Management lets you create long-running tasks that enable agents to run autonomously as background jobs, including recurring jobs that run without human intervention. In Task Management, you can create a task and choose how it runs. A task can run once or on a recurring schedule. Each task runs in the background, which makes this feature useful for work that takes longer to complete or needs to run repeatedly. This allows you to automate ongoing work instead of manually starting the same process each time.
This feature is designed for users who need to schedule agent-driven work such as enrichment, match and merge processing, and other high-volume operations. It supports both one-time and recurring schedules and provides visibility into job status, progress, and outcomes.
What you can monitor
Task management displays a list of scheduled and completed jobs. From the job details, you can monitor information such as:
- job status
- selected agent
- scheduled run details
- processed item counts
- auto-accepted item counts
- items that require review
- error counts
- throughput metrics
- execution steps and progress details
The job details can also show step-level execution updates, such as candidate retrieval, validation, and other processing stages.
Items processed automatically and items that need review
During execution, the agent uses the task instructions to process items. Some items are processed automatically, while others are routed for human approval.Job details and summaries distinguish between items that were auto-accepted and items that require review. Use the job summary to identify these outcomes, then open the related conversation for the job when you need to inspect results in more detail or continue follow-up.
Tasks, jobs, and conversations
In AgentFlow, a task is the scheduled definition of the work to be done. A job is one execution of that task. For recurring tasks, each scheduled run creates a new job.
Each job has its own conversation. When a job is complete, AgentFlow sends an email summary with processed and error counts and a link to the Task Management dashboard, where they can review detailed results. In the dashboard, you can monitor scheduled, in-progress, and completed jobs, and cancel a scheduled job before execution begins.
