Edit an Interaction type

Learn how to edit an interaction type within the Data Modeler.

This feature is available only in tenants provisioned for Reltio Intelligent 360

You may want to make changes to an Interaction type after it has been created and saved.

For a configured mapping, Reltio resolves members when interaction data is loaded by matching the interaction attribute value to the entity attribute on the member type’s entity type. Each value must match exactly one entity. Zero or multiple matches fail the load. See Create interactions and Interaction types.

Create interaction types in the Data Modeler.
  1. From the Data Modeler, select Interaction Types .
  2. Select the interaction and select the edit icon.
    Name
    Not editable.
    Display Name
Edit the name that displays in the MDM UI (Hub)
  3. In Member types, edit a member type.
Member types are the entities involved in an interaction type, representing the key participants of the interaction.
    1. Select the edit icon for the member type.
    2. In the Edit member type dialog box, update Name, Display name, Entity type, and Minimum No. of members as needed.
    3. Optionally, to set Attribute mapping, in the Edit member type dialog box, select an Interaction attribute, and then an Entity attribute.

If this interaction type has no interaction type attributes yet, Interaction attribute is disabled. Create interaction type attributes on the interaction type, and then map them to entity attributes. After you add attributes to the interaction type, they appear in the Interaction attribute list. Entity attribute is disabled until you select an Entity type and an Interaction attribute. The Entity attribute list shows only attributes of the selected entity type that have the same attribute type as the selected Interaction attribute, including nested sub-attributes.

    4. Select Save on the member type.
If the selected Interaction attribute and Entity attribute data types do not match, saving the member type in the Edit member type dialog box shows an inline validation error. Fix the mapping and then select Save again in the dialog. .
    5. To remove a mapping, edit the member type and select REMOVE MAPPING, then select Save on the member type form.
  4. Select Save on the edit interaction type page.
