Hierarchy types in Data Modeler
Learn about hierarchy types and how they define the entity structures used to build hierarchies in your tenant.
A hierarchy type defines a structural relationship between entity types, such as an organization structure or an employee reporting line.
In the Data Modeler, configure the hierarchy types that use the Materialized hierarchy structure. Each hierarchy type requires a name, a display name, and the entity types that can use the hierarchy type. You can have multiple hierarchy types for different structural views, like an organization hierarchy and an employee hierarchy.
From the Hierarchy types page, you can:
- Create hierarchy types
- Edit hierarchy types
- Delete hierarchy types
- View hierarchy type details
