Get started with grouping types
Learn how to create a grouping type.
Use grouping match rules to identify related entities and create grouping types in the Data Modeler. You can use this capability for scenarios such as householding, where related records are grouped based on shared characteristics. You can see this rule in action on the Grouping types page in the Data Modeler.

In the App Selector icon, select Console.

In the Console home page, under the Configuration section, select Data Modeler. For more information, see topic Console at a glance.

At the top of the page, from the Select tenant drop-down menu, select the tenant you want to work with.
You are now in the Data Modeler UI. Next, let’s find out how to get to the Grouping types page.

In the Navigation pane, click Grouping types.
Next, use the following key sections of the Grouping types page to create a new group, create a rule, and view created groups for a member entity.
- Select tenant:
- A drop-down menu at the top of the Console page that provides a list of available tenants. For more information, see topic Select a tenant.
- Title bar:
- The bar across the top of the Grouping types page displays the button you use to create a new group. For more information, see topic Create grouping type configurations.
- Navigation Pane:
- The pane that displays the different options you can view in the Data Modeler. For more information, see topic Data Modeler at a glance.
- Groupings Area:
- The area below the title bar and on the right of the navigation pane in which panel the available grouping types are displayed. For more information, see topic Configure grouping types.
