Collaboration in RDM
Data stewards can collaborate and communicate with other users in RDM to check for the validity of reference data before the data is shared with the downstream applications.
Data stewards can collaborate and communicate with other users in RDM to check for validity of reference data before this data is shared with the downstream applications.
Collaboration is available for Canonical Value and Mapping Lookup Type properties.
Users can collaborate in the following ways:
- Collaborate per canonical value row
- View comments for Mapping and Canonical values by a Lookup Type
- Tag users by using the @ symbol followed by username. The tagged user will receive an email notification with a link to the tagged value
- Can edit, reply, and resolve comments
Adding a Comment to a Canonical Value of a Lookup Type
- Click on a lookup type and select a lookup type value. In the below image, the Cities lookup type is selected. Mouse over at the end of the row and click the + icon to add a comment.
- Enter a comment and tag a user as shown below:
- On the top right, when the user clicks on the comments icon, all comments for the selected lookup type appear:
- Click Resolve to resolve a comment.
- A comment can be re-opened by adding a comment or clicking on the Re-open button.
Adding a Comment to a Mapping Value of a Lookup Type
The user needs to click the More Options icon against a value in a mapping row and select Insert comment.
