Partial override, with or without DCR, changes the URIs of the attributes. To prevent URI modification, preserveURIs can be used.

In most cases, when the value of the attribute is modified with preserveURIs, the platform will generate an UPDATE_ATTRIBUTE change for a DCR. For more information, see Changes Generated After Partial Override.
