Create Databricks IAM role in AWS

Learn how to create an Identity and Access Management (IAM) role in your AWS account for Databricks.

Create an IAM role with the policy from Create Databricks IAM policy in AWS. The role provides Databricks access to your Staging and Target buckets.

To create a role:

Log in to the AWS Management Console.
In the search field, search for iam.
In the drop-down list of items, hover over IAM and select Roles.
In the Roles page, select Create role.
Select AWS service as the trusted entity and a use case for your service. Use cases are defined by the service to include the trust policy that the service requires.
Select Next.
Select the policy created in Create Databricks IAM policy in AWS.
Select Next.
Create a role prefixed with dph-service-role. For example: dph-service-role-reltio.
Important: Reltio does not support IAM Role ARNs that include a path component (for example, service-role/ in role/service-role/ROLE_NAME).
Use this format instead: arn:aws:iam::AWS_ACCOUNT_ID:role/ROLE_NAME
If your Role ARN includes a path, Reltio will be unable to validate or assume the role, and connection to the external queue will fail.
