Troubleshoot Search Before Create in Veeva Vault CRM

The following table lists common issues you may encounter when using Search Before Create in Veeva Vault CRM and the recommended resolution for each issue.

Common issues and resolutions

Search failed or 401 errorYour Vault session may have expired. Refresh the page, and try again.
No records found
Confirm that you selected the correct account type and entered the required search fields.
  • For HCO, enter the available fields.

  • For HCP, enter First Name and Last Name, or NPI.

  • For KOL, enter Name, NPI, DEA, or Veeva ID

If the search still returns no results, check that the required input attributes were provided for the selected search type. Customer Tenant searches require the attributes configured in the Reltio match rules. Data Tenant searches require NPI or DEA, depending on the tenant.

Import failedVerify that the RIH recipe is running. If the issue persists, submit a support request.
Search Before Create is not visible in the navigation barCheck the Application Profile configuration and confirm that the top-level tab is configured correctly.
Search button is disabledEnter at least one search field to enable the Search button.
Invalid API tokenIf the configured API token is invalid, the API returns HTTP 401 Unauthorized. In this case, review the token under API Platform > Clients. If the token is incorrect or expired, generate a new API key for the API collection and update the value in the configuration.
