Autonomous agents usage through SAP Business Data Cloud
Learn about how autonomous agents usage is measured in Capacity Units (CUs) for SAP Business Data Cloud customers, including consumption policies and usage monitoring.
When your organization provisions autonomous agents through SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC), usage is measured in Capacity Units (CUs). Agent usage draws from the shared pool of CUs that your organization uses across BDC products. There's no separate entitlement for autonomous agents.
You can use the Usage Dashboard to monitor agent activity and CU consumption across your tenants.
How Capacity Units (CUs) are consumed
CUs are consumed when agents run, including in conversations, long-running tasks, and scheduled jobs. The units consumed by a run depends on the agent and on the amount of work the agent performs. You can see each agent's CU rate per run on the Discover agents page in the autonomous agents UI.
Data explorer and Profiler agents do not consume CUs.
Building, testing, and configuring agents in custom agents doesn't consume CUs.
Usage limits
When your organization's purchased CUs are used up, agent interactions are not blocked., so you can keep using agents without interruption. Usage beyond your purchased CUs is billed as overage at the end of the month.
Monitor Capacity Unit usage
The Usage Dashboard displays autonomous agents CU consumption for the selected month. Usage data is updated once a day and includes usage up to the previous day.
The dashboard provides the following information:
- Agent runs: Total number of agent runs.
- CUs consumed: Total CUs consumed by autonomous agents.
- Daily CU usage: CUs consumed each day of the selected month.
- Agent usage: The number of CUs that a run consumes depends by each agent, and each agent's share of total CU consumption.
- Tenant usage: Displays the environment and CUs consumed by each tenant, and each tenant's share of total CU consumption.
