Select a model in a conversation
Learn how to select an LLM at the start of a new conversation in AgentFlow when Bring Your Own LLM is enabled for your tenant.
When BYO LLM is enabled for your tenant, you select which model to use each time you start a new conversation with an agent. Once you send the first message, the model selection is locked for the remainder of that conversation.
Prerequisites
- BYO LLM must be enabled for your tenant by Reltio.
- At least one active LLM configuration must exist for your tenant.
Select a model and start a new conversation
- Open an agent in AgentFlow.
- In the chat input area, locate the model selector dropdown.
- Select the model you want to use for this conversation. The selector shows the model name and provider (for example:
gpt-4o / Acme Corp). - Send your first message.
Result
Once you send the first message, the model selection is locked for the remainder of the conversation. The selector becomes disabled, and the selected model name remains visible so you always know which model is in use. To use a different model, start a new conversation. Resume an existing conversation
When you open an existing conversation, the model selector shows the originally selected model in a locked state. All messages in this conversation continue to use the same model.
If no model is available
If no active LLM configuration exists for your tenant, the chat input area is disabled and displays: No models available, please contact support. For more information, see BYO LLM error messages.
