AgentFlow billing and credit usage
Learn how AgentFlow credits work, how usage is calculated against your annual entitlement, and what happens when usage reaches defined thresholds.
This topic is intended for Data Product Owner and
System Administrator who manage AgentFlow usage and monitor credit consumption. For more information, see About roles.
What AgentFlow credits are
AgentFlow uses credits to measure AI agent usage. Each agent execution consumes credits.
Data Explorer and Profiler agents do not consume credits, and are available to all AgentFlow users. Their activity does not deduct credits from your balance and is not visible in the Usage Dashboard.
Building and configuring agents in Agent Builder does not consume credits. Credits are consumed only when users interact with agents in AgentFlow conversations.
Subscription models
AgentFlow supports two subscription models. Your subscription model determines what AgentFlow credits cover and who pays for LLM inference costs.
Your organization may have one or both subscription models active, depending on your contract. The three possible configurations are:
- Reltio Model only: All agent interactions use a Reltio-managed LLM. Credits are consumed per agent interaction.
- Customer Model only: Agent interactions route through your own LLM endpoint. The price per credit is lower than in the Reltio Model subscription. Your LLM provider bills inference costs separately.
- Both models: Each model maintains its own credit pool. The Usage Dashboard shows entitlements and consumption separately.
For information about setting up a Customer Model subscription, see Request BYO LLM setup and view your LLM configuration.
Annual credit entitlement
Credits are purchased for a defined contract period. A single annual credit entitlement is allocated at the start of each contract period.
- Credits do not reset monthly.
- There are no daily or monthly usage caps.
- Unused credits do not roll over.
- Unused credits expire at the end of the contract period.
How credits are consumed
Credit consumption depends on your customer model:
- Standard customer — Each Base Package has its own independent credit entitlement. All tenants mapped to the same Base Package consume credits from that package's entitlement.
- Pooled customer — Credits are shared across multiple Base Packages under the same customer. Tenants consume credits from the shared pooled entitlement, which may span multiple Base Packages and contracts.
Usage thresholds
AgentFlow monitors credit consumption against your annual entitlement and provides notifications at defined thresholds:
- 75% — Warning notification
- 90% — Critical warning notification
- 100% — Usage is blocked
When usage reaches 75%, 90%, or 100%:
- Email notifications are sent to users assigned the
ROLE_AGENT_BILLING. - AgentFlow users see a message in the chat window indicating the current usage level.
When usage reaches 100%, new messages can't be sent until credits are replenished.
What happens when credits are exhausted
If a Base Package reaches 100% credit usage:
- The in-progress request completes.
- New messages are blocked.
- The message composer is disabled.
- A notification appears in the interface.
An Admin must replenish credits before new AgentFlow messages can be sent.
Who can view the Billing Dashboard
Only users assigned the ROLE_AGENT_BILLING can access the Usage Dashboard to view credit balances, contract details, and tenant and agent level usage.
Regular AgentFlow users can continue using agents but will see warnings when usage thresholds are reached.
To learn how to monitor usage, see View AgentFlow usage and credit balance.
