Review and act on a publish request

Learn how to review an agent publish request in Agent Builder, inspect the scan results and configuration, and approve or reject the request.

When an author submits a publish request, it enters a review queue after passing the automated system prompt scan. As an approver, you review the agent configuration and scan results, then approve or reject the request.

For more information about the full publish lifecycle, see Agent Builder for AgentFlow at a glance.

For more information about scan categories and what findings mean, see System prompt security scan.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, confirm that:

  • You must have the ROLE_AGENT_APPROVER on the target tenant.
  • A publish request is in Pending review state in the review queue.

Open and review a publish request

  1. Log in to Agent Builder
  2. From the left side panel, select Agent Builder.
  3. Select the Review requests tab. The queue lists all pending requests with the agent name, submitter, and submission timestamp.
  4. Select a request to open the detail view.
  5. Review the agent configuration:
    • Agent metadata: name, description, and tags.
    • System prompt content.
    • Tool configuration and allowlist.
    • Scan results: status and the policy category of any violation detected.
  6. Optionally, select Test to run the agent yourself before making a decision. The test panel opens alongside the request detail view.

Approve or reject the request

  1. To approve:
    1. Select the approve action.
    2. Confirm the approval. Agent Builder publishes the agent as an immutable version, makes it discoverable in Discover Agents, and records an audit entry with your identity and the decision.
  2. To reject:
    1. Select the reject action.
    2. Enter a reason. The reason is visible to the author when he sees the review request details.
    3. Confirm the rejection. The author can revise the agent and resubmit.

Result

On approval, Agent Builder creates a new immutable published version. The agent is immediately available to users with EXECUTE permission in Discover Agents. If the agent already had a published version, the newly approved version becomes the active published version.

On rejection, the agent returns to the author with the reason. The previously published version, if one exists, remains live.

Validation steps

  • Confirm the agent status shows Published in Agent Builder after approval.
  • Open Discover Agents and confirm the agent appears with the correct name and description.
