Creating a New Group

You can create a new group and add roles and tenants.

You can also create several groups containing specific roles associated with multiple tenant assignments. You could then use these groups to provide access to multiple user accounts. You could use different groups as templates to provide relevant permissions to sets of different user accounts.

  1. Click the icon on the Groups page. The Create new group page appears.

  2. Enter an appropriate name and description for the group before you associate roles and tenants for the group.

Selecting a role

  1. To specify the roles applicable to this group, click the icon in the Roles section. The Roles dialog box appears.

  2. Select the roles that you want to assign.
Note: You can select multiple roles at one go. Also, if you know the name of the role that you would like to add to the group, you can click Search roles and specify the role details that you want to search upon.
  3. Click ADD. All the selected roles are displayed in individual rows on the Create new group page.
Note: If the role that you would like to assign does not exist, use the Roles page to create a new role with the desired permissions. For more information, see Creating a new Role.

You can choose to add Tenants now or click SAVE to complete the group creation process and add tenant details later.

Assigning a Tenant for the selected Role

For the specific roles defined earlier, you can add the tenant details.

  1. By hovering over the Tenant section (in the same row as the role), click the icon. The Tenant dialog box appears.

  2. Select the tenants that you want to assign.
Note: You can select multiple tenants at one go. Also, if you know the name of the tenant that you would like to associate with the role, you can click Search tenants and specify the tenant details that you want to search upon.
  3. Click ADD. All the selected tenants are displayed against the selected role.

After you have added the tenants against all the roles for the particular user, the Create new group page appears similar to the image given below.

Click SAVE to complete the group creation process.
