Prompt library in the Unstructured Data Studio

Learn how the Prompt Library helps you create, organize, and reuse AI prompts to extract insights from unstructured documents.

The Prompt Library is a central repository where you can create, manage, and categorize prompts that guide how documents are processed in the Unstructured Data Studio. Prompts define what information to extract, and how to structure the output. Here's a Prompt Library screenshot:

Navigate to the relevant tab to view prompts. The My Prompts tab shows prompts you've created, which can be private or shared. The Public tab displays prompts made available to all users in your workspace. The Categories tab groups prompts by their function, making it easier to find and reuse the right prompt during workflow configuration.

Create a new prompt

To create a new prompt:

  1. In the Prompt Library page, select Create Prompt in the top-right corner.

  2. In the Create New Prompt window, enter the following:

    1. In the Title field, enter the name of the prompt.

    2. In the Description field, enter the summary of what the prompt does.

    3. From the Category dropdown, select the category to which the prompt belongs.

    4. In the Content field, enter the full prompt instruction.

    5. In the Tags, field, enter searchable tags if required.

    6. In the Visibility field, select Private (which is visible only to you) or Public (available to all users).

  3. Click Create Prompt to save the prompt.

The prompt is added to the My Prompts or Public tab based on its visibility. It's now available for selection in the Processing step of any document workflow. For more information about workflows, see topic Understanding workflows in the Unstructured Data Studio.
