The Provider Organization entity type contains data about a formally or informally recognized grouping of people or organizations formed for the purpose of providing healthcare service, such as companies, corporations, departments, and community groups, as well as healthcare practice groups such as hospitals, nursing facilities, and community homes. Healthcare Organizations often exists as a hierarchy of organizations, represented with an entity relationship to provide the association of the child to its parent organization.
