Practitioner entity type for Healthcare

Learn more about the Practitioner entity type in the Reltio for Healthcare data model.

The Practitioner entity type contains data about individuals who are engaged in the healthcare process and healthcare-related services as part of their formal responsibilities, such as:
  • Physicians, dentists, and pharmacists

  • Physician assistants, nurses, and scribes

  • Midwives, dietitians, therapists, optometrists, and paramedics

  • Medical technicians, laboratory scientists, prosthetic technicians, and radiographers

Attention: Do not use this Practitioner entity type for individuals who are not professional healthcare practitioners. If you want to create a record for others involved in caring for a patient, such as people taking care of friends, relatives, or neighbors, use the Person entity to create a record for them and then create a Person-to-Person relationship to connect them to the patient's Person entity. For details, see topics Person entity type for Healthcare.

Practitioners are also often grouped into Care Teams independently of types or roles, where the Care Team defines what specific role that they fulfill within the team.

Practitioners may perform different roles within the same or different organizations. Depending on jurisdiction and custom, you may need to maintain a specific Practitioner entity record type for each such role or a single Practitioner entity type with multiple types.

This table identifies the properties for the Practitioner entity type specified in the Reltio for Healthcare configuration and lists the attributes preconfigured in the order they appear in the Data Modeler.
