Create an Interaction type

Learn how to create an interaction type in the Data Modeler.

Only available in tenants provisioned for Customer 360 Data Products.

Interaction is a kind of action that occurs as two or more entities have an effect upon one another. For example, one entity can send email to one or several entities. You can define different types of interactions and their taxonomies in the Business Model.

Unlock valuable insights by defining Interaction types::

  • Create and manage interaction definition and related objects through the data modeler interface.
  • View and manage individual interaction components.
  • Create interaction type definition with properties such as URI, label, description, and more.
  • Add mandatory Member Types, which are entities representing key participants in an interaction.
Create interaction types in the Data Modeler.
  1. In the Data Modeler, select Interaction Types.
  2. Select CREATE NEW and enter:
    Name
    Enter a name that will display in the URI
    Display Name
    Name displayed in the MDM UI (Hub)
  3. Add Member Types (mandatory) and enter:
    Name
    Enter a name that will display in the URI
    Display Name
    Name displays in the MDM UI (Hub)
    Entity Type
    Entity type that the member is a part of
    Minimum No. of members
    Optional. Minimum Number of members required. Default is 0.
  4. Select ADD to save this member and select + Member Type to add multiple Member Types.
  5. Select SAVE.
Create and edit interaction type attributes
  1. Select SAVE AND ADD ATTRIBUTES to add attributes to your Interaction types.
  2. Select SAVE to save the member types.
  3. Select SAVE AND ADD ANOTHER to add multiple attributes to the interaction type.
Create more Interactive type attributes
  1. Select an Interaction type (row).
  2. Select CREATE NEW.
    Return to step 6 and repeat until you have added all Interactive type attributes.
