Support for Special Characters
The search feature automatically searches for special characters that are not included in a query.
The Search box does not require the user to enter diacritical marks and other special characters that are found in European languages. This includes marks such as the umlaut, the acute, the tilde, the German Eszett, and so on. The user can type the intended word without the special characters and Reltio Connected Cloud will find the matching words that use the missing special characters.
In our example, if you enter kafer, Reltio Connected Cloud finds the names that include the string Käfer in addition to any names that include kafer. Here are some cases in German, Spanish, and Russian:
Type | Also Searches On |
---|---|
Mobeltragerfusse | Möbelträgerfüße |
Aa | Ää |
ss | ß |
Type | Also Searches on |
---|---|
df | Áá |
Ii | Íí |
Nn | Ññ |
Type | Also Searches on |
---|---|
Ee | Ёё |
The opposite case also works. If you enter a search string that contains special characters, it will use fuzzy logic and also enter the equivalent string without the special characters.
For new tenants, this feature works out of the box. For old tenants, you must reindex the data. Here is the complete list of the supported special characters.
