Configure zero-copy integration from Google BigQuery using APIs

Learn how to configure zero-copy integration from Google BigQuery using APIs.

Configure the BigQuery connection and interaction mapping by completing the required API and Google Cloud IAM tasks in sequence. The configuration enables Reltio to retrieve matching interaction data from BigQuery and display it in Reltio Intelligent 360™.

The following roles can configure zero-copy integration from Google BigQuery:

Prerequisites

Before you begin, confirm the following permissions, services, and source-data requirements before configuring the integration:

To configure zero-copy integration from Google BigQuery using APIs
  1. Run the following request to retrieve the Reltio service account and required Google Cloud IAM roles:

    GET {platformUrl}/reltio/api/tenants/{tenantId}/interactions/database-configs/bigquery/onboarding-prerequisites/

    This operation does not require a request body. The response is similar to this example:

    {
      "successful": true,
      "result": {
        "reltio_service_account": "reltio@test.iam.gserviceaccount.com",
        "required_roles": [
          "roles/bigquery.jobUser",
          "roles/bigquery.dataViewer"
        ],
        "instructions": [
          "Grant Reltio permission to impersonate the customer service account."
        ]
      }
    }

    Use result.reltio_service_account when granting access in Google Cloud.

  2. Configure the following required IAM grants in Google Cloud:
    1. On your Google Cloud service account, add the returned Reltio service account as a principal and grant it the Service Account Token Creator role.
    2. On your Google Cloud project, grant your Google Cloud service account the BigQuery Job User role.
    3. On the mapped dataset, table, or view, grant your Google Cloud service account the BigQuery Data Viewer role.
  3. Follow Create a BigQuery connection to save the project, dataset, location, and your Google Cloud service account details in Reltio.
  4. Follow Test a BigQuery connection and confirm that the saved connection reports connected: true.
  5. Follow Map a BigQuery table or view to a Reltio interaction type to define the BigQuery source, crosswalk column for each member type, and interaction attributes.

Result

Reltio stores the BigQuery connection and interaction mapping. When Reltio Intelligent 360™ requests interactions for a profile, Reltio queries the mapped BigQuery source and displays matching rows in the profile's interaction timeline without storing the BigQuery data.

Verification steps

Confirm that the integration returns interaction data for a related profile:
  1. In your API client, confirm that the connection test response contains connected: true.

  2. In Reltio Intelligent 360™, open a mastered profile whose crosswalk ID exists in the mapped BigQuery table or view.

  3. On the profile, open the interaction timeline and confirm that the matching BigQuery rows appear.
