Catalog Reltio metadata in the Collibra physical layer
Learn about synchronizing Reltio storage-layer tables and columns with Collibra in addition to, or instead of, logical metadata.
What is it?
The Reltio Collibra integration can create Reltio metadata objects in Collibra's physical data layer. Depending on your configuration, it can create physical objects (such as Schema, Tables, Columns), logical objects (such as Data Model, Data Entity, Data Attributes), or both—enabling tailored support for governance, lineage, and compliance use cases.
Who is it for?
This content is curated for these Reltio user roles defined in topic About roles:
Data Steward Ensures metadata accuracy and governance across systems.
Developer Automates metadata exchange between Reltio and Collibra.
Reltio Configurator Defines data models and relationships that align across both platforms.
Why would I use it?
- End-to-end lineage – Physical tables and columns extend lineage diagrams beyond logical entities.
- Single configuration point – You choose the layer during recipe setup; schedules and credentials remain unchanged.
- Backward compatibility – Logical sync stays the out-of-the-box behavior until you switch layers.
Mapping between Reltio and Collibra assets
Reltio object | Collibra physical-layer asset | Collibra logical-layer asset |
---|---|---|
Tenant | Schema | Data Model |
Entity type | Table | Data Entity |
Relationship type | Table | Reltio Relationship |
Simple attributes | Columns of Table | Data Attribute |
Nested attributes | Table | Data Entity |
Reference attributes | Not synced | Data Entity |
Objects created in the physical layer carry a Physical_
prefix to avoid name conflicts with logical objects.
When and where would I use it?
Select the required layer the first time you run the Collibra recipe in your tenant’s RIH account. You can change the selection later to meet evolving governance needs.
How does it support business goals?
Physical-layer synchronization builds end to end lineage in Collibra using Reltio assets enabling deeper governance, impact analysis, and compliance reporting while preserving existing integration performance targets.
