Review roles on a resource

Learn how to review which roles have permission rules on a configuration resource in the Metadata Security application.

The Roles on a resource feature in the Metadata Security application allows you to identify which roles have permission rules defined for a configuration resource. You can review access across the entire configuration or focus on a specific resource type.

The Roles on a resource feature helps you understand how permissions are distributed across roles and investigate access restrictions without using API requests.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you meet the following requirements:

You have access to the Metadata Security application in Reltio Console.
You have selected the appropriate tenant and environment in Reltio Console.
You have identified the configuration resource for which you want to review permission rules.

To review roles on a resource

Log in to Reltio.
The Hub appears.
Select the Applications icon, and select Console.
The Console appears.
In the Security section, select Metadata Security.
The Metadata Security page appears, displaying Manage Security Config by default.
In the left navigation pane, under REVIEW, select Roles on a resource.
The Roles on a resource page appears, displaying the available configuration resource kinds.
Select the required resource kind:
- Entire configuration: Review permission rules defined for the entire configuration.
- Entity types: Review permission rules for entity types.
- Relationship types: Review permission rules for relationship types.
- Graph types: Review permission rules for graph types.
- Interaction types: Review permission rules for interaction types.
- Change request types: Review permission rules for change request types.
- Grouping types: Review permission rules for grouping types.
For resource kinds other than Entire configuration, select one of the following options:
- All types: Includes permission rules for all types in the selected resource kind. The option name varies according to the selected resource kind.
- Specific type: Use the search bar to find and select the required resource type. For Entity types and Relationship types, you can also select a specific attribute.
Select Show roles.
The Results section displays the permission rules associated with the selected configuration resource and resource scope.
Review the results to identify which roles have permission rules on the selected resource.

Result

The Results section displays the roles and their associated permission rules for the selected configuration resource. You can review the access permissions and applicable filter conditions for each role.
