Map File Columns to Attributes

You must map columns in the file with the relationship attributes before the data load.

Let's define a mapping between the file columns and relationship attributes before loading relationships.

In the Upload section, after you have selected a file, you come to the Map section. The content of the file that you have uploaded is displayed.

  1. Select on Map Attributes.

The right side panel allows you to map attributes.

You can map the file columns to the entity attributes. You can start mapping the attributes with or without selecting the existing mapping or by creating a new mapping.
  2. Select an existing mapping.

You can search for an existing mapping from the list.

  3. In Select mapping, select New Mapping.
Note: By default, the name of the new map is New Mapping.
The Mapping name* text box displays with the name of a new mapping.

  4. Enter a name for the mapping.
The Select mapping button changes its label to an existing mapping name.
Note: New mapping names are not displayed as the label of this button.
  5. Select the relationship type from the drop-down list.
There are multiple types of relationships, such as HCP-HCO, HCO-HCP, Individual-Organization and vice versa, Party-Party, and so on.
  6. Click CREATE.

When you select a column, the mapping panel appears on the right. You must specify the crosswalks of the start and the end object. In this example, the relationship type is Contact (Organization to Individual). The start object entity type is change prefix with crosswalk gender and the end object entity type is with the crosswalk mi.

Source table is an additional parameter to ensure the uniqueness of the start object and end object crosswalks. Specify a source table for the start object and end object crosswalks, as required. In this example, Chance.prefix and Gender columns are specified as the source table for the start object and end object crosswalks respectively.

The attributes that appear on the right panel depend on the relationship type. You must map at least one file column to an attribute. In this example, the gender column is mapped to the Desc attribute:

You must add a crosswalk for the relationship similar to adding a crosswalk when loading entities. You can also split and join columns similar to loading entities. For more information on these and the remaining steps, see: Map File Columns to Attributes.

  7. Select Back.
Note: In the mapping page, using the BACK buttonyou can go back to the previous page to upload a new file whenever required . You can start the process once again.
  8. Select Continue.
A Save mapping dialog box is displayed.
  9. Select SAVE AND CONTINUE.
