Managing Images

You can use the Reltio Image Management (Image Hosting or IH) feature for hosting and managing images for profiles.

Business users and integrated systems can now easily manage multiple Image objects related to an entity using important functions such as selecting a default image and adding images directly through the UI. You can add, delete, and change the default image for a profile. For more information, see Managing Profile Images in the Hub.

By hosting images in Reltio platform, customers will enjoy the benefits of the platform such as:

  • Natural merge and unmerge functionality, where the images will stay with the proper profiles throughout merging and unmerging functions.
  • Powerful security protocols and controls, providing an ability to control which users and systems have CRUD access to their images and data.
  • Automatic calculations of important attributes such as image height, width, mime-type, and others, as well as automated resizing to provide two different sizes of the image. All of this rich data can then be easily shared with other systems within the entire customer ecosystem.
  • Ability to take advantage of these attributes in Reltio platform itself by using them in Search to find the profiles you are interested in.
  • Flexibility in image storage options. You can use Reltio's S3 or your own S3.
Important: Image Hosting must be enabled in your tenant. See Enabling Image Hosting for more information.

Supported File Types

The following image file types can be hosted in Reltio platform:

  • .png
  • .jpeg
  • .bmp
  • .gif
  • .tiff
  • .jpg

Enabling Image Hosting

For recent customers (Sept 2018 to present day), Image Hosting is automatically enabled for your tenants. For customers that received their tenants prior to Sept 2018, you can request Image Hosting to be enabled by submitting a Support Ticket at (support@reltio.com) with the following details:

Required Information
  • The URL of your production tenant for which you wish Image Hosting to be enabled. Know that we will enable IH for all your tenants, dev, test, and prod.
  • maxFileSize

The default maximum file size is 20 MB. You can specify this item if you want to limit the size of each uploaded file to less than 20MB.

  • Desired file types.

This specification is useful if you want to limit the file types for your system to a subset of the supported file types. Default file types are: .PNG, .PEG, .BMP, .GIF, .TIFF, and .JPG.

Optional Information

Note: Your Reltio Connected Cloud license entitles you to 1TB of file space, and that file space is provided to you via a cloud-based bucket. (If you have not received such a bucket, submit a support ticket asking for a bucket). Images you manage with Image Hosting are held in this bucket by default. However, you have the option to provide your own bucket, as noted below.
  • Your AWS S3 Bucket Information, only if you wish to use your own S3 bucket for Image Hosting. If that is the case then provide the following:
  • Akamai information (Optional: Needed only if you want to use the Akamai CDN).
    • cdnHost: The URL for the CDN host server (example: www.xyz.com).
    • cdnPath: The path in the CDN host location where images are located (example: imageassets).
