Roles and permissions

You can assign appropriate roles and permissions to different users of the Data Loader application.

The Data Loader API has various resources that you can use to work with job definitions, mappings, and so on. The table shown later in this topic lists those resources.

The resources accessible to you depend on your role. Owners always have full access to their objects, while non-owners have very limited access to shared resources, like mappings.

If you need access to other users’ objects, you must be granted the global role ROLE_ADMIN_TENANT. Having this role gives you near full access to all the resources and objects of Data Loader. For example, you get access to the jobs of other users, but not the information about the storage accounts. Storage account information is secured and only accessible to object owners.
