Get to know the Reltio information model
Learn about the Reltio information model and our multi-domain master data management (MDM) solution.
If you need clarity about the definition of multi-domain MDM vs. multiple domain MDM, and other Reltio and industry terms, see What’s in a name?
What makes the Reltio solution different?
- One-to-one (1:1)
- One-to-many (1:M)
- Many-to-many (M:M)
Object-oriented, like modern object-oriented programing languages
Our solutions are based on object database management technology, not relational database management, so no need to consider tables, foreign keys, or any of the low-level physicality of how the data is stored.
Consider this example
Our data model easily uses entities, relationships, and interactions to help you master your data. We also offer preconfigured industry-specific profiles that help you get a head-start with your data. Say you have a case where your business knows that your retail customers have a relationship with automobiles, then you might consider starting with our profile solution called Reltio Consumer 360 on your tenant. Preconfigured, Consumer 360 provides the consumer entity type, and most of the other objects you’ll need. In this example, you could declare an automobile type and a relationship type that links the automobile type to the consumer type. That simple definition supports one-to-one (1:1), one-to-many (1:M), and many-to-many (M:M m:m) scenarios with no further effort.
Feel the power!
The Reltio software stores these application-level definitions in a tenant configuration and associates them with your tenant. The configuration enables these settings to sit in a layer on top of the Reltio platform and natively enjoy all the capabilities provided by the platform. Capabilities include things like matching, merging, cleansing, standardization, workflow, and so on. You can easily associate all the entities you establish in your tenant interactions and then choose to bring them into the Reltio platform. The ability to hold and link all three types of your data--entities, relationships, and interactions--in the platform and use their combined presence in a single place provides unlimited power to model and understand your business.
