The Location entity type is the address master, and it serves two purposes, it holds customer addresses and the bank's own sites. A branch is an address with staff and opening hours, and keeping both in one type means proximity search, address cleansing, and geocoding work the same way for each. Each address is stored twice over, once as the source supplied it and once parsed into its components, so records survive the round trip through an address-verification service.
