Accelerate the Value of Data

Sources Perspective (new view)

In the Profiles page, the Sources perspective enables you to manage data sources.

These data sources are used to determine the records responsible for determining the Operational Values (OV) for Profile attributes.

You can view this early access feature by selecting the Sources option from the Manage View Preferences page. For more information, see Change from Classic to New UI.

In the Sources pespective, you can view and manage the source data and associated crosswalk information.

The Sources perspective displays a color coded sources grid that displays the following information:

  • Attributes and Operational Value
  • Winner Source System
  • Rule Type
  • Count
  • Attribute values

The Show/Hide columns option enables you to select the columns that must be displayed in this perspective. Reltio saves these preferences and the next time you login, the columns are displayed as per your saved preferences.

Attributes and Operational Value

This column displays the attribute’s labels and operational values. The Operational Value is a dynamic value calculated in real-time, which is based on Survivorship Rules. Expanding the arrow adjacent to the OV will display the nested attributes for the value.

Winner Source System

An attribute value can be found in different source systems. Among them, one source system emerges as a winner or survivor based on the applicable rule type. For more information, see Survivorship Rule Types.

Note: In case of Aggregation rule type, the winner source systems are shown in the order of attribute values.

The winner source system, the attribute value, and crosswalks in the right panel use the same color coding scheme to indicate that they represent the same source system. When you hover over the source system, the attribute values of the same source system are also highlighted.

Rule Type

This column displays the Survivorship rule used to determine the Operational Value of the attribute.

This column displays the number of source values for the attribute.

Attribute Values

This column displays the source values for the attribute. These are color coded to indicate the source system to which it belongs. Expanding the arrow next to the attribute value will display the nested attributes. When you hover over an attribute value, the other attribute values of the same source system are also highlighted. You can add attribute values by dragging a crosswalk and dropping it into the Attribute Values column and then editing the value. For more information, see Adding Attributes in the Sources Perspective.

For each of these attribute values, the following actions are available:

Table 1. Interaction Types
Action Icon Description
Pin Enables you to override the operational value with the original source value.

Enables you to ignore the source value.

Focus Highlights the attribute values that belong to the same source system. In the example, when you click on the Focus icon for Western Sahara (EH), it keeps this attribute value highlighted all the time. Simultaneously, it also keeps all attribute values belonging to the same source system also highlighted.
Edit This option enables you to edit an attribute value.
  • If the attribute value is a drop-down or a lookup field, the available options are displayed when you edit the attribute. You can select the required option.
  • If the attribute value is an entry field, you can edit the field and change it as required.
Delete This option enables you to delete the attribute value for the entity.

Adding Attributes

You can also add attributes in the Sources perspective by clicking the +ATTRIBUTE link. For more information, see Adding Attributes in the Sources Perspective.
