Changes in the new navigation menu

Learn more about the differences between the classic and new navigation.

The following table compares the classic and new navigation menus.

Menu option Classic navigation New navigation
Dashboard Part of the navigation on the top horizontal menu. Displays the dashboard, along with the various facets configured for the user. For more information about the dashboard, see topic Explore the Dashboard . The first icon on the left navigation pane. You can view the Profile Statistic Dashboard or the Data quality dashboard.

It’s easier to switch between these two dashboards since they’re now available in the same menu. For more information about the Data Quality dashboard, see topic Real-Time Data Quality dashboard overview.

Search Part of the navigation on the top horizontal menu. Clicking this option displays the Search page. For more information, see Search. The second icon on the left navigation pane. Clicking this option takes you to the Search page. No change when compared to the classic navigation.
Profile Part of the navigation on the top horizontal menu. Clicking this option displays the Profile perspective. You can view profile details, and navigate to the other perspectives such as Graph, Interactions, Potential Match, and so on. For more information, see Create or review initial profiles. The third icon on the left navigation pane. Clicking this option displays all the different perspectives available for a profile.

Here, you can directly go to the perspective you want to view, instead of going to the profile perspective first, and then selecting the required perspective.

Create a new profile Part of the navigation on the top horizontal menu. Select More > Create Profile to create a new profile.

The fourth icon on the left navigation pane. Clicking this option slides out a new menu with the different entity types. You can select the entity type to create a profile.

The quick search Above the horizontal menus on the top of the page.

Enter search criteria to view a list of profiles matching the criteria. To view a list of saved searches, you must select the Saved and Recent searches option in the main search page.

You can also enter search criteria to search for profiles. Unlike the old navigation, this quick search makes your life easier by listing the saved and recent searches here. You can select any one of them to go to the Advanced Search page that displays the results of the selected search. Global search is also available in this Quick Search panel.

Notifications Above the horizontal menu, next to the quick Search field. Clicking this opens the Notifications application in the Console. Part of the left navigation pane. Clicking this opens the Notifications application in the Console.
Applications Above the horizontal menu, next to the Quick Search field. Clicking this lists the applications that you can access.

Part of the left navigation pane. Clicking this opens a list of applications that you can access. This layout is easier to read and loads faster.

Profile settings Above the horizontal menu, next to the quick Search field. Select this to display options to manage your preferences and to sign out of the application.
