Monitoring registration strategies in D&B Data Blocks

Ad-hoc monitoring registration for DUNS Numbers

Learn how to manually register or unregister DUNS Numbers for D&B monitoring using ad-hoc CSV files in File Storage.

Ensure that the Automate Monitoring Registration property is set to No. You also need access to the tenant’s File Storage location.

When Automate Monitoring Registration is disabled, you can control monitoring by providing your own list of DUNS Numbers. You prepare and upload CSV files to register or unregister records. The process maintains a master file to track all registered DUNS Numbers.

To use ad-hoc monitoring registration:
  1. Create a directory in File Storage at /D&B_Monitoring_Registration/Adhoc_File/.
  2. Create a CSV file containing the DUNS Numbers to register. Name the file Monitoring_Registered_DUNS_List1.csv.
    If the file contains more than 1,000,000 records, split it into multiple files, such as Monitoring_Registered_DUNS_List1.csv, Monitoring_Registered_DUNS_List2.csv, and so on.
  3. Upload the CSV file(s) to /D&B_Monitoring_Registration/Adhoc_File/.
  4. Run the ad-hoc registration recipe.
    Note: During the first run, all DUNS Numbers in the ad-hoc file are registered. From the second run onwards, the recipe compares the ad-hoc file with the master file and processes only deltas. If no changes are found, the job stops.

After processing:

  • Registered DUNS Numbers are added to the master file.
  • Reltio updates entity attributes:
    • attributes.MonitoringRegistration.Status → Registered or Unregistered
    • attributes.MonitoringRegistration.UpdatedTime → Date and time of the update in MM-DD-YYYY HH:MM:SS format
  • You cannot switch Automate Monitoring Registration from No to Yes after ad-hoc processing starts. Switching may cause registration conflicts.
  • Set Monitoring Registration Limit to 0 if no limit applies. If a licensing limit exists, enter that value. When the limit is reached, the recipe prevents further processing.
  • If a DUNS Number in the ad-hoc file is not found in the tenant, the record is skipped during registration.
