Frequently Asked Questions

Some frequently asked questions about Reltio Analytics are answered below.

Q1. How are schema changes managed?

A1. Reltio automatically synchronizes schema changes between Reltio tenants and the Reltio Analytics environment.

Q2. Can we bring/import Operational Values (OV) or non-OV data or both?

A2. Yes, both OV and non-OV data can be imported by setting the ovOnly flag in the analytics configuration to false. The default value is true.

To change the flag, create a support ticket.

Q3. How do we enable/disable streaming?

A3. To enable or disable streaming, create a support ticket.

Q4. How do we do the initial data delivery?

A4. To do the initial data delivery, create a support ticket.

Q5. What happens when I do a batch export if I already have data in the Reltio Analytics environment?

A5. Reltio automatically figures out the difference in data and ensures that the information is updated correctly.

Q6. Do I need to do a re-export if I add any attributes?

A6. Yes, you have to execute a simple re-export to ensure new attributes are accounted for.

Q7. Why am I seeing different results in Reltio MDM UI and the Reltio Data Science area following a data export?

A7. When an entity has two crosswalks with the same update, the default Last Update Date (LUD) strategy chooses random values as winners.

If this happens, the LUD strategy will need to be used as an advanced survivorship strategy. Once the physical configuration is changed, then the reindex job must be rerun with separate indexing and Reltio Analytics data must be re-synchronized.

Q8. Do I need to do a re-export if I modify any attributes?

A8. Possibly, yes. To know more details on when a re-export may be necessary, see the Other Considerations or Best Practices section.

Q9. Can I add additional users to Reltio Analytics through self-service?

A9. Currently, you have to create a support ticket to request additional users.

Q10. Will there be self service options to start and stop streaming?

A10. This is typically a rare occurrence and unfortunately this requires a support ticket at present.

Q11. What are some sample queries that are useful when accessing data?

A11. The following queries are useful when you want to access data:

  • Get count for all entities in the tenant -
    SELECT count(distinct id) FROM `customer-facing.views_riq_dw_361_ZyqSCp4r8gMwDYL.entities_merged
  • Get count for all entities by source -
SELECT REGEXP_REPLACE(cw.source,'configuration/sources/','') AS crosswalksSource, COUNT(DISTINCT(Id)) AS entities FROM `customer-facing.views_riq_dw_<env>_<tenant>.entities_merged`, UNNEST(crosswalks) AS cw GROUP BY source
  • Get count of entities created after XXYYZZZ date -
    SELECT COUNT(Id) FROM `customer-facing.views_riq_dw_<env>_<tenant>.entity_HCP` WHERE createdTime > TIMESTAMP('2019-08-01')
  • Get entity uri where address line 2 is empty -
SELECT uri, Line1 FROM `customer-facing.views_riq_dw_<env>_<tenant>.entity_Individual` AS C LEFT JOINUNNEST(attributes.Address) AS A LEFT JOIN UNNEST(A.AddressLine2) AS Line1 WHERE Line1 is null
  • Get count of entities created during a period of time -
SELECT COUNT(*)c FROM `customer-facing.riq_dw_{env}{tenantid}.entity{entityname}_*` GROUPBY id, type, versionTime, eventTime HAVING c > 1 order by c desc
Note: The parameters versionTime and eventTime are both unique for entity Id as a pair (versionTime, eventTime).

Q12. Why am I not able to find the field in my table for a given attribute?

A12. Entity attribute that appears on the Reltio tenant UI is considered by the value associated with label. Reltio Analytics uses uri for Analytics table field naming. Even if the label is changed, the URI value remains unchanged. Hence, if you can not find the table field for your entity attribute, it implies that the label for that entity might have changed. The same applies for relations as well.

  • SELECT REGEXP_REPLACE(cw.source,'configuration/sources/','') AS crosswalksSource, COUNT(DISTINCT(Id)) AS entities FROM `customer-facing.views_riq_dw_361_ZyqSCp4r8gMwDYL.entities_merged`, UNNEST(crosswalks) AS cw GROUP BY source
  • SELECT COUNT(DISTINCT(Id)) FROM `customer-facing.views_riq_dw_361_ZyqSCp4r8gMwDYL.entities_merged`

Q13. If I decide to bulk delete thousands or hundreds of thousands of records, or even delete all the records from my tenant to do a reload, then will the Reltio Analytics storage automatically stay in sync with the outcome? Or, do I have to explicitly do something within Reltio Analytics?

A13. The Reltio Analytics storage will stay in sync and you need not perform any action in Reltio Analytics.

Q14. If I reload millions of records, do I have to disable Reltio Analytics, perform an entire Export job to Reltio Analytics, and then re-enable Reltio Analytics?

A14. It is not necessary for you to disable or re-enable Reltio Analytics after data load. However, if you want to stay within your tenant quotas and limits then we request you to inform us before performing a big data load. This is a standard practice today, so that we can ensure that the data load is completed without any issues.
